For Amy & I, the date of July 30 holds special memories because it marks the anniversary of not one, but two memorable milestones in our relationship.
Our first date was 17 years ago on this date, yes, back in 1994. After looking at the above photo from our first date, here are a few tips. First of all, if you are driving to a date on a hot summer day, don't floor it with the sunroof open. Your hair might get messed up. Also, your glasses will be too big.
If you are the girl, don't make your first date with a guy ridiculous by hosting dinner with the family at your parents' house. That's not stressful at all!
Additionally, July 30 also marks the 10 year anniversary of our engagement, which took place after a long adventure around Chicago, ending at the Chicago Botanic Garden, where I finally popped the question. (And yes, it was intentional to get engaged on the same day as our first date.) It's amazing how there was a photographer handy for the photo above, isn't it?
So here's to July 30!
Love the hair that is priceless. Why haven't we used this in one of our newsletter pictures?
