Navidaddy - December 7: While The Child Lay Sleeping
Here's a quiet piano instrumental by Wayne Jones called While The Child Lay Sleeping. I found it years ago on a compilation album of "winter songs" put out by Target's Lifescapes collection. This odd album has become somewhat of a favorite of Amy & I because it's fitting background music that helps support the quietness of the season. Of course, as soon as the child wakes up, that quiet is gone!

This year's theme of 'Navidaddy' features songs that reference babies and children in the titles. It doesn't get more blatant than Kids by Conway Twitty. Plus, there's even noisy children featured in the background of the song audio!
Navidaddy - December 5: The Little Boy That Santa Claus Forgot
Today we feature what is probably the most depressing song in the history of "Steve's 25 Days of Christmas Music"… so how's that to kick off a Monday?! It's Vera Lynn's rendition of The Little Boy That Santa Claus Forgot, the heartwarming song about a kid who has broken toys, was completely ignored by Santa, and doesn't even have a Dad. Now that's Christmas cheer!

Navidaddy - December 1: This Year's Santa Baby
As I mentioned in the Introduction, this year's Steve's 25 Days of Christmas Music theme of "Navidaddy" — a play on words combining the Spanish phrase for Christmas along with being a Daddy — will feature songs that reference babies or children in the titles, given that Amy & I are about to become proud parents to our first son (due date: December 21).
We're all pretty familiar with Eartha Kitt's rendition of "Santa Baby" from 1953. However, did you know that it had a sequel? The next year Kitt recorded today's song, This Year's Santa Baby, as an attempt to capitalize on the popularity of the original. It failed. Miserably. That would probably be the reason why you really don't hear it today. This makes it a great candidate to kick off our 25 Days event!
