Navidaddy - December 21: This Baby

When planning this year's 25 Days, I intentionally slotted today's song — This Baby by Steven Curtis Chapman — for the 21st of December. Amy & I have always liked this song, and given that December 21 was our child's due date, I just thought it would be fun to tie the two together.

However, Wesley had other plans and arrived on December 16 instead! I'm going to have to have a talk with our son about sticking to schedules!

Navidaddy - December 19: Little Boy Who Couldn't Find Christmas

Hey, it's another depressing kid song relating to the holidays! I'm wondering why these were ever written, to be honest. Roy Rogers and Dale Evans sing 1954's Little Boy Who Couldn't Find Christmas.

December 16: Santa Baby for The HIP – Steve's 25 Days of Christmas Music 2011: Navidaddy

Navidaddy - December 16: Santa Baby for The HIP

Navidaddy - December 16: Santa Baby for The HIP

The HIP is a mall located on the northwest side of Chicago. It's an acronym for Harlem Irving Plaza, having first opened in 1956. Because of the land-locked nature of the property, it has a very interesting footprint, growing through creative expansion. It originally was an outdoor mall that was converted to enclosed in the late 1970s. While not glamorous, it boasts one of the highest occupancy rates for malls in the area, and is a place I locally grew up with.

A few years ago they stuck Santa Baby for The HIP on their website as part of their Christmas promotions. It's cheesy, that's for sure, but in sort of a fun way.

Navidaddy - December 15: Merry Christmas Baby

It's not Christmas without The Beach Boys, is it? Well, maybe it can be, but not this year! Thankfully, they reference (sorta) kids and children in with the title of their song, Merry Christmas Baby

Round 3: Steve vs. Amy in "Ticket to Ride"

It's time to post an update on the ongoing scores of "Steve vs. Amy" Ticket to Ride games!  Whenever we play a head-to-head game, we update the ongoing results table on our guest bathroom wall, which features chalkboard paint.  Our guests are always quite amused when they take a look!

We posted Round 1 results last October, with an update on Round 2 in April.  Well, we've finished another column of games, so it's time to post the latest results:

Round 3: Steve vs. Amy Game Results

Round 3: Steve vs. Amy Game Results

To be honest, we haven't been playing Ticket to Ride at the same pace that we had previously.  Our passion for the game hasn't subsided, but rather with Amy being pregnant and frequently tired, we just haven't had the time in the evenings to play like we used to.
